Victorian Goldfields

Our first series of tours focus on the historic places within special regional cities, towns and hamlets located in the vast Victorian Goldfields.  Stories of places include townscapes, landscapes, architecture and fine details within them.

  • Grand cities of Ballarat and Bendigo, delightful country towns such as Maryborough, Maldon, Buninyong and Creswick and fascinating hamlets such as Landsborough and Moonambel as well as ghost towns like Whroo in central Victoria, are just a few of many tours covering various themes.

  • Picturesque towns located in the mountains, such as Beechworth, Yackandandah and Walhalla, all express their unique history in the architecture, historic trees and gardens as well as in the infrastructure and mining relics.  Many hamlets, some of which are almost forgotten, harbour remnants which tell fascinating stories about the history of the place and its people.

  • Vivid colour, elegant forms, typical and unique parts of the architecture and materials are explored in beautiful and detailed pictures which give insight into the history of the owners, designers and craftsmen.

  • Trivia Quiz.

Each tour has a set of trivia questions (and answers) for your enjoyment.
